Class 1
Welcome to the Class 1 page, where we share and celebrate our learning past and present so you can get a taste of what it's like to be a part of our class. It's also where you can find out key information about the exciting learning journey we are on and the adventures we plan on having.
We hope you enjoy your visit to our class page,

Spring Term 2022
Welcome back and Happy New Year!
We've had a great first week, sharing news about some of our favourite Christmas presents, planting bulbs and deciding where to put them in the classroom as well as starting to explore our new topic 'Aldeburgh and Our Local Community'. Please see the learning overview for this term below.
PE days have changed slightly to Tuesdays and Thursdays, please ensure your child comes in wearing their PE kit and that it is appropriate for the time of year.
Any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Thank you for your continued support,
The Class 1 Team
Our Caterpillar Diary
During Science week, we had a special delivery of some tiny and yet very hungry caterpillars.
Every day the class observes how they have grown and any changes that have occurred. The class helper takes a photograph and draws and writes in our Class Caterpillar Diary about what they can see.
We have learned and retold the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar to inspire our learning on the Life Cycle of A Butterfly. We are really enjoying seeing the life cycle first hand, making new observations and discoveries each day.

Autumn Term 2021
We are really looking forward to welcoming our new reception children this week. We have been very busy over the summer creating an exciting learning environment for the children to explore.
Our topic this term is "All About Me" and we are excited to learn all about the children and their skills and interests. Find out more about what we have planned in this terms curriculum overview below.
Our P.E. days are Tuesday and Wednesday, please ensure your child comes into school already in their P.E. kits.
If you have questions please don't hesitate to ask a member of staff at the end of the day.

Learning conversations
Each day we write a little comment on what we have been learning so you can carry on the conversation with your child at home. Learning conversations are shared via Seesaw the learning platform or in the children's reading records at the beginning of each week. See an example below.
Read Write Inc. Phonics
Phonics lessons will be taught following the Read Write Inc. programme.
Please see the link below for useful information, videos, free electronic books and other resources available to support your child with their reading at home.
Reading books will be sent home weekly, the children will start by having a book for you to read and share with them. When they are ready they will also have a book matched to their reading stage on the Read Write Inc. programme.
See our Reading page for more information.
