Aldeburgh Primary School

Class 4

Welcome to Class 4

In Class 4, you have reached the top of the school! You have responsibilities which you can volunteer for, such as monitor jobs in the classroom or being a Play Leader. Year 6 children might also want to run for Captain or Vice-Captain of a House team.

This term, P.E. lessons will be on Friday afternoons, so please come to school in your P.E. kit, and you will remain in this all day, so you don't need to bring your school uniform to change into. As the weather will become colder, you could wear black leggings or jogging bottoms, rather than their black shorts, if you prefer.

We will also be going to swimming lessons at Leiston Leisure Centre, on Tuesday mornings.

It is really important that you have a named water bottle with you every day at school.

On the curriculum overview, you can see what we will be learning about this term. Every Friday you will receive homework, which needs to be returned by the following Wednesday. You will also have spellings to learn.

It is really important to read regularly. On Fridays we have a reading raffle, and your name will be entered in the raffle if you have read or discussed your book with an adult at home at least four times over the past week.

In Years 5 and 6, you will take part in interesting lessons and activities to extend your knowledge and skills, and you are expected to work hard and always try your best!

We wish all the best to our Year 6 leavers, as they move to high school.

AUTUMN TERM 2021

Our topic this term is ‘The Struggle for the Kingdom of England’, in which we will find out about the invasions of Britain by the Anglo-Saxons and Vikings in the first century.

Our class book is Michael Morpurgo’s ‘Sleeping Sword’.

What a fabulous time we all had at the Class 4 Residential at Hilltop in North Norfolk!
