Summer Term! 2026

Welcome back to the Summer Term in Hedgehogs and the last term of key stage 1!

We have lots of exciting things to look forward to and I hope you're looking forward to coming back after a well earned break.

Please read the curriculum overview to see what we will be covering in various subjects.

Our topic this half term is 'How did we learn to Fly?' where we will be looking at the very exciting history of flight. In science we will be exploring plant growth and hopefully growing lots of things outside, once the beautiful weather arrives! :)

The homework grid can be found below- (after 12/04/26) and please encourage your child to engage with the activities and tasks at home. 

Regular reading and learning of spellings is also encouraged.

Spring Term- Hedgehogs Class

Welcome to the Spring term in Hedgehogs Class! I am delighted to be joining the school as the new class teacher and am really looking forward to getting to know the children and working closely with families over the coming months.

This term promises to be an exciting one. Our main topic will be The History of Nursing, where the children will learn about important figures such as Mary Seacole and explore how nursing and hospitals have changed over time. Through stories, role play, discussions, and creative activities, the children will develop their understanding of the past while building key skills in reading, writing, and enquiry.

Alongside our topic work, we will continue to focus on developing confidence, independence, and a love of learning across the curriculum. I am excited to see the children grow, ask questions, and share their ideas as the term progresses.

I am really looking forward to a happy and successful Spring term with Hedgehogs Class.

Welcome back Hedgehogs!

This term, our topic is: Seas and Oceans.

Please ensure your child has their orange reading log, and reading book in school every day.

Our PE days are Tuesday and Friday, please come to school in your PE kits.

Homework is sent out termly via a homework menu. Homework is shared with the class on a Friday afternoon and children will receive house points on completion of a piece of homework.
